  • 2003

    LightSheer™ inventors launch Tria Beauty (formerly known as SpectraGenics). LightSheer™ is the gold standard for in-clinic laser hair removal provided by physicians but the machine weighed 120 pounds (55 kilograms) and cost $100,000. The laser hair removal treatment was only available in the clinic, so the inventors wanted to create a small, handheld laser, safe for at-home use, and capable of delivering results.

  • 2004

    Tria Beauty opens its first office in Pleasanton, California and hires its first employee. The first commercial Tria Hair Removal Laser is created and manufactured.

  • 2005

    Tria Beauty goes international and launches in Japan.

  • 2006

    Tria Beauty undergoes clinical trials for FDA approval. Rigorous safety and efficacy tests are performed.

  • 2007

    World-renowned laser expert Ronald G. Wheeland, M.D. validates Tria Beauty’s laser efficacy and demonstrates that after only two treatments, patients saw a 70% reduction in hair (Wheeland, MD, FACP, Lasers Surg Med, 2007). Tria Beauty begin the research and development of a dermatology-proven blue light technology daily acne treatment device.

    Tria Beauty’s Hair Removal Laser receives FDA clearance in the US.
    Tria Beauty’s Hair Removal Laser receives Allure magazine’s Beauty Breakthrough award and Women's Wear Daily's Breakthrough Product award.
    Tria Beauty hires its 50th employee.
    Tria Beauty launches its website triabeauty.com.

    Tria Beauty launches its Tria Laser 2.0 with two added comfort settings, allowing customisable treatment.
    Laser expert Ronald G. Wheeland, M.D. evaluates Tria Blue Light’s effectiveness and reports that there was a 94% improvement in skin after just two weeks (Tria Beauty Clinical Study 030).
    Tria Beauty expands its headquarters in Dublin, California.
    Tria Laser debuts on QVC® and expands distribution throughout the US.
    Advertising Age names Tria Beauty one of "America's Hottest Brands".

    Tria Beauty launches its Skin Perfecting Blue Light device in Japan.

    Tria Laser and clinical data for Blue Light are spotlighted at the 22nd World Congress of Dermatology.

  • 2012

    Tria Beauty launches the Age-Defying laser.
    The Age-Defying Laser is medically licenced, and CE marked for home use in Canada and the UK, representing a revolutionary breakthrough in anti-ageing at-home laser treatment devices.
    Tria Beauty launches its Skin Perfecting Blue Light in South Korea.
    Tria UK expands distribution to new retail partners Space NK, Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols.
    Laser expert Ronald G. Wheeland, M.D. concludes that the Tria Hair Removal Laser permanently reduces unwanted hair one year after completing a course of eight treatments (Wheeland, MD, FACP, Lasers in Surgery and Medicine 44:500-557 (2012)).
    Wheeland also notes that Tria’s Skin Perfecting Blue Light is “effective and well tolerated, offering rapid, gentle, and convenient treatment of inflammatory acne” in an article published in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, May 2012, Volume 5, Issue Number 5.

    Tria Beauty launches its Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X. The device features an upgraded digital display, a new pulse counter, and delivers permanent results in as little as three months.

    Two of Tria's top-selling laser devices won the InStyle Best Beauty Buys Award for being the best hair removal and wrinkle lasers on the market in 2016, chosen by leading dermatologists.

  • 2017

    The first UK television advertisement for Tria Beauty launches.

  • 2018

    Tria Beauty appoints Graeme Bradbury as their General Manager of EMEA and Global Sales Director. Graeme has a wealth of market experience, having previously worked with top household names like as Adidas, Samsonite, Lacoste, Timberland, Dyson and Homedics.

  • 2020

    Laser clinics close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tria Beauty UK records record sales during the pandemic.

  • 2021

    Tria Beauty UK sponsors the prestigious Rolls-Royce Queen's Platinum Jubilee "Strive for Perfection" event.
    Tria Beauty UK launches its Luxury Gift range, including a luxury fragranced candle.
