TRIA LOVES: DANIELLE COLLINS, THE FACE YOGA EXPERT

TRIA LOVES: DANIELLE COLLINS, THE FACE YOGA EXPERT

Before the pandemic, I took a certified Danielle Collins technique face yoga class with an instructor-friend, Marie. In comfy chairs and pillows, the ten ladies in the class met each week for six weeks for facial yoga and facelift massage with the aim of getting younger faces, learning acupressure techniques to reduce facial tension, draining the lymphatic system, and preventing the formation of deep lines and wrinkles. I at times felt a little silly doing moves that I’d be happy to do in my bedroom at home but felt a little self-conscious about in a room full of people. However, once I got more comfortable, I absolutely loved the class and saw noticeable improvements in the short amount of time I did it.

A couple of years on, I can’t say I use every move every day but I learned some valuable tools to relax my face when I’m feeling a little tense. Although, if my friend, Marie, is anything to go by (she uses the technique every day) and Danielle, both of whom look fabulous and way younger than their years, then I’m all in. And that’s also why when Tria’s Marketing Manager, Emma, told me that Tria had teamed up with Danielle, I couldn’t wait to see what was in store.

What is face yoga?

Face yoga is the answer to “why does exercise stop at the neck.” We have yoga, pilates, weight lifting, running, walking, and all sorts of techniques that exercise, tone, and firm the body – well beyond our 20s – but we don’t often address the face and neck, which is why so many women and men turn to surgical means to treat these areas.

The Danielle Collins method of face yoga combines exercises for face, massage, relaxation acupressure, and wellbeing into one holistic method.

Face yoga originated in Japan and was designed to soothe overworked muscles in the forehead, between the brows, and around the mouth – and to tighten and awaken less used muscles in areas like the lower eyelids and cheeks. This practice involves the person cleverly manipulating their own face for the desired effect.

There are a small handful of famous face yoga experts worldwide, but Danielle Collins is one of the most famous and most trusted.

The About section on Danielle’s website says: “I am a great believer in combining traditional techniques that have been used for thousands of years, particularly in Eastern medicine, with modern, scientifically proven research.” As Tria sells science-based, scientifically proven devices, we wholeheartedly agree.

She continues, “This is exactly the combination that you will find in The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method which is a fusion of both. In terms of the science (and to answer the question you may be thinking: does Face Yoga actually work?!) Face Yoga has been proven to make you look 3 years younger in 20 weeks in a study by dermatologists at Northwestern University.”

Who doesn’t want to look younger for longer? So, with Danielle’s excellent face yoga techniques and her agreement to try out our Age-Defying Laser, we wanted to know what she thought.

Danielle

What does Danielle think about Tria’s Age-Defying laser?

We love an honest review and Danielle was candid about what she loved about this product. She was very clear that since her whole career (she likes to refer to it as a “passion” or “true calling” instead) is built around natural anti-ageing, she was very reluctant to try our Age-Defying laser when it arrived – and it sat in the box for quite some time.

Even though she’d never had any sort of laser treatment before – at home or at a salon – once she tried it, she was surprised at how well it fitted into her skincare routine and how much she enjoyed using it.

Consumers need to be well-informed, which is why we provide plenty of information about the science behind our products. Danielle, like any diligent user, did her research before starting treatment and she read some customer reviews that noted that they found using the laser painful at higher settings, so she started on the first setting.

Danielle describes how the laser’s first setting did “give [her] a faint pricking sensation” but it wasn’t “enough to cause any discomfort” and she didn’t find it painful as others described. She warned, “This might be something to watch out for on the higher levels.”

Although she expressed that she found her skin was a little red after using it, it’s something she expected of this kind of treatment. She noted, “The redness fades after around five minutes or so. Then I’m just left with beautifully glowing skin.”

SPF

In both her video and her blog, she explains the importance of preparing the skin beforehand (washing it, drying it thoroughly) and following the treatment with a serum and an SPF.

She clarified that using a serum “help[ed] soothe and hydrate my skin and [took] down any redness.”

Even though Tria recommends using the laser at night and putting on SPF in the morning, Danielle found that she only had time to fit treatment in with her morning skincare routine.

Face Serum

The downside for Danielle was the price, which is usually around £450 (but our 1/3rd off sale is on right now and you can snap up the laser for £299).

Danielle concedes: “Honestly, it is a lot of money for a skincare tool. But it is a one-off cost. In contrast, if you went for laser treatment in a salon, you’d usually need five or more sessions, and each session can cost as much as £500. So, buying a facial laser for use at home is definitely the more affordable option.”

Our FDA-cleared laser treatment has been designed in consultation with leading dermatologists and plastic surgeons. It works by causing microscopic pockets of cellular disruption which activates the skin’s natural healing process, stimulating collagen and elastin production, for younger-looking skin in as few as eight weeks. Use it daily for eight weeks for guaranteed results – or your money back.

Tria Age-Defying Laser

The price point is on the higher end but since it can be done from the comfort of your own home and uses top-rated and proven technology, it’s a small one-off price to pay for a lifetime of better skin.

Don’t take our word for it! Have a look at what Danielle herself had to say about the Age-Defying laser: Do At-Home Facial Lasers Work? I Tried Tria Beauty Laser (faceyogaexpert.com).

In this sponsored video, Danielle talks about the benefits of the laser and demonstrates how she uses it. We gifted the product but since Danielle only works with brands she trusts, she promised she’d only review our product if she felt it was worthwhile.

Thankfully for us, she unequivocally recommends our anti-ageing facial laser but she suggests you do your own research first and follow up treatment with a serum or SPF.

She concludes, “Now that I’ve used the Age-Defying Laser for a few weeks, I can say with confidence that I do recommend this product. It is so easy to use, gives your skin a beautiful glow, and I’ve not had any issues with pain or discomfort.”

For glowing skin like Danielle’s, we recommend our anti-ageing laser and her face yoga techniques (more on that later).

All about Danielle Collins: how did she get started and what inspired her journey?

Danielle grew up in Plymouth and moved to Bath for university where she studied Education and English Literature at Bath Spa University, graduating with a first-class honours degree.

After graduating, she was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis, which is also known as ME/CFS or chronic fatigue syndrome and is a long-term condition with a range of symptoms. Danielle says she was very ill for two years and was told by doctors there was no known cure.

She explains she had a determination to get better and started incorporating nutrition, relaxation, exercise, yoga, and pilates into her routine – and she got better!

After recovery, she felt she wanted to help and inspire others to heal their bodies the way she had done so she completed diplomas in nutrition, face massage, professional relaxation therapy, Hatha yoga, and pre-natal and post-natal yoga with the British School of Yoga.

She didn’t stop there! She also trained in Thai yoga massage, shiatsu, Indian head massage, the Alexander Technique, EFT, meditation, and Reiki levels 1 and 2.

She taught yoga for a couple of years, helping clients enjoy the health and healing benefits of yoga and continued to get requests for “a similar natural way for the face to look and feel healthier too.”

With many years of research and trialling face techniques from ancient Eastern medicine and “the latest studies on facial composition and renowned wellbeing strategies,” she created The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method, enjoyed by millions around the world.

Danielle is now the world’s leading Face Yoga Expert, two-time bestselling author, and a renowned authority in yoga and wellbeing. With her seventeen years of teaching experience, she’s now a regular fixture on the television and in the press. Thousands of teachers are certified in her method internationally in The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method.

How do I get started with face yoga?

Danielle has a YouTube channel that features many of her face yoga techniques and even shows you how to practice it yourself in 10-15 minute sessions. All for free!

Danielle also has a podcast and online sessions for those who want a more one-to-one personal touch. You can also check listings in your local area to see if you can find face yoga classes and attend them in person (like I did).

Here’s a video on the 10-minute evening facelift.

We recommend maximising your results by combining your 10-15 minute a day face yoga session with Tria’s Age-Defying laser.

Danielle notes: “On the first level, each zone takes around 30 seconds, so the treatment is just two minutes in total. When you get up to level three, you spend closer to two-and-a-half minutes per zone – even then, the total treatment will only take ten minutes.”

With two to ten minutes of laser treatment and then a few minutes of face yoga, you can get a younger-looking face and improved skin quality and texture in twenty minutes or less!
