WAYS TO GET WITH THE EASTER HOLIDAY VIBE

WAYS TO GET WITH THE EASTER HOLIDAY VIBE

If you’re anything like me and the rest of the UK population, you love, love a Bank Holiday (sorry to those of you who have to work some of them). This year, we get an extra Bank Holiday for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June, so that means we have two bank holidays in April, one in May, and two in June. How glorious! All of this extra time to soak up the British sun (one can dream) means we need to plan ahead, so here are ways to have fun this Easter Bank Holiday since we get to enjoy both Good Friday (15 April) and Easter Monday (18 April).

Take in the culture

#1 Take in the culture

You can grab your favourite pal or family member and go to a National Trust property or stately home this Bank Holiday. You can learn about the history of the country, have some tea and scones, and enjoy a walk in the fresh country air.

If indoor pursuits are more your jam, check out a museum or an art gallery. They also have tea and cake! Most UK cities and towns have a gallery or a museum of sorts such as the Tate Modern (London), Ashmolean Museum (Oxford), Walker Art Gallery (Liverpool), The Hepworth Wakefield (Wakefield), the Leeds Art Gallery (Leeds), the Royal Academy of Arts (London), the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (Wakefield), the National Railway Museum (York), the Whitworth (Manchester), National Museum Cardiff (Cardiff), Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (Birmingham), the Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge), and the list is figuratively endless.

We are lucky here in the UK that we have so many options to choose from with galleries, stately homes, and museums, so you’ll never run out of things to see.

Enjoy cocktails with your friends

#2 Enjoy cocktails with your friends

Nothing says Bank Holiday like sitting in a beer garden enjoying your favourite tipple – whether that’s a gin cocktail or a fruit cider, so grab your favourite mates and ask them to join you for a drink and some sun. After all, there are only so many Bank Holidays each year to enjoy with your favourite people. Since you probably spend most of your time at home with a sweatshirt on and your yoga pants, take the time to dress up and make an effort with your makeup and hair as it will most likely make you feel happy about yourself. I know for me when I feel my outfit looks great and my hair and makeup are in place, I feel way more confident.

Go out for a fabulous lunch

#3 Go out for a fabulous lunch

On the subject of dressing up, if drinking isn’t how you like to while away your afternoon (after all, the hangovers get more challenging), there’s nothing like a lovely lunch to cheer up the long weekend. Schedule a lunch date with a friend or three and grab some of your favourite tasty foods. Better still, combine the two and go for a Bottomless Brunch somewhere like Las Iguanas

Plan a get-away

#4 Plan a get-away

For many of us, it’s been a full two years since we went anywhere besides the odd weekend away in the UK, so it may be time to plan a getaway with your significant other (or your mates). Whether you stay in a quirky Airbnb or in a luxury resort abroad, a little refreshment holiday might be just the ticket to tackle the year.

Try an active pursuit

#5 Try an active pursuit

Whether it’s axe throwing, an escape room, or a HIIT class, nothing will make you feel better than moving your body on the Bank Holiday, even if it’s just the once. No, you don’t have to shed your PJs or leave your television, but you really ought to!

Get your laser on!

#6 Get your laser on!

If you have decided that you’d like to stay in because #bankholidaycrowdssuck (or whatever sentiment you’re feeling), then you might want to use it as a time to remove that body hair for summer or start your laser facial routine. Of course, we are biased, but we love our Tria 4X hair removal laser with diode technology and our Age-defying laser, which is the most effective non-ablative at-home laser on the market at a fraction of the cost of salon treatments.

In this diary here, I talk all about my journey with the Tria 4X laser. It’s time-consuming but it’s a fraction of the cost of other salon options and it’s effective. It’s something you can do for thirty minutes a day whilst you watch your favourite TV show in the evening. And depending on the size of the area to be treated, that might be all you need.

In this non-sponsored post, Dr Komal, a hardworking dedicated NHS doctor has found the time to test out our Age-defying laser and she’s loving it so far.

These products work! If you want hair-free skin and younger-looking skin, these are the devices for you. It’s a time and money investment but one that is definitely worth it – so jump on the home laser trend!

Enjoy something free

#7 Enjoy something free

Also keep in mind that you don’t need to splash out on expensive days out to have fun. Why not get together with friends for a hike in nature or a picnic in the park. You can also share recipes and make them together or start a book club and have something exciting to discuss each month.

The takeaways

Whether you’re spending the Bank Holiday with family, friends, or that special someone, it’s best to plan and book ahead as things get busy over long weekends, especially when there’s sun involved. Let us know on social media what you plan to do for the Easter weekend!
