The beauty industry is always evolving and we love following hair, make-up and skincare trends. Here are five of our favourite predicted beauty trends for the new year:
Skincare and beauty gadgets working together in harmony
The popularity of at-home beauty gadgets, including hair removalandanti-ageing laser devices, will continue to grow, and we believe that users will increasingly use them alongside skincare products that further enhance the treatment. For example, an anti-ageing finishing serum that helps to soothe and hydrate laser-treated skin or a calming gel that minimises any discomfort during treatment.
Throwback to 90s style
Are you ready to channel the 90s in 2018?! The spring/summer 2018 catwalks took us on a trip down memory lane by showcasing some famous hair and make-up styles from the ‘90s era, including big bouncy curls, side ponytails, glossy nude lips, baby blue eye shadow and bold lip liner.
Get ready to shine
Gloss, shine and moisture was another popular spring/summer 2018 beauty trend that dominated the runways. We saw artists taking the glowy skin and wet-hair trend that’s been around for a few years to the next level, with models sporting seriously-glossy skin, hair, eyes and lips. Glossy lids essentially opened New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2018, as models at Tom Ford sported gloss over eyeliner and the beauty look at the Prabal show was all about moisture, with models appearing as if they had transitioned from pool to runway.
Anti-ageing will start younger
While in the past, consumers used to wait until wrinkles started to appear to kick start their anti-ageing skincare regime, today’s ‘selfie-generation’ is more likely to take steps earlier to fight the ageing process. At Tria Beauty, we’ve certainly noticed consumers in their 20s increasingly showing an interest in our at-home anti-ageing lasersand we predict this will continue to rise in the new year. The ‘Kardashian culture’ may have heightened awareness of using invasive methods, such as Botox and fillers, to slow down the ageing process, but thankfully consumers are also turning to non-surgical solutions, including fractional laser technology used in Tria Beauty devices.
Unicorn hair isn’t going anywhere (yippee!)
If you follow Tria Beauty UK’s Instagram channel, you’ll notice that we love sharing bright hair colour inspiration, including this year’s trending unicorn hair trend. One of our favourite hairstyles spotted on the spring/summer 2018 runways was Stella Lucia’s ‘rose quartz’ do created by Redken Global Colour Creative Director, Josh Wood, for Alexander Wang. The end result was a show-stopping orchid, coral and violent-tinged pink look. We have major hair envy!
